PLAY WEEK!!!!!!!!

January 18th, 2005 (11:18 am)

current mood: anxious

This week's the week of the plays, which we've been working on SO hard for months and months. Saturday at 7:30! I'm a bit put out though. None of my family will be able to make it. Mum and Dad have this fancy dinner party they're attending in upstate New York. Alyssa has work, Avery has work, and the other kids...well, they're too young to understand the plays anyway.

Wait a second....

I wonder whos watching the kids. If everyone has things to do, the kids can't be by themselves in the house all alone. We don't have a babysitter. I'm usually the babysitter.

Oh...I can see this exploding right in everyone's face (as things like this usually do).

I'll try to remember to hold a conference-whatsit, but in the meantime...let's all have a moment of silence, won't we. What happened this weekend on Livejournal will go down in history as just...one of those things where you'll forever remember where you were and what you were doing in that moment. The question is: how did YOU survive the LJ Outage of 2005?

The Great LiveJournal
Outage of 2005

During the outage I discovered this thing called a pencil that can write in this thing called a notebook.

What did you do?

Yesterday was wonderful. The windows were wide open in my room to the unseasonal warm, springlike breeze. I was drinking Chai Latte on my bed and reading the Entertainment section of the newspaper. It felt as if the warm weather had come early. Absolutely wonderful.

Play's next Friday. Nervous? Not by a long shot. *confidence*

You Are 21 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

This means I should be able to do anything a 21-year-old can do. Legally.

Hippies hippies
In the 1960s
Hippies hippies
In the 1960s
Communal living
Free love and peace
In the war down in ‘Nam
We want killing to cease

Love is all you need
Love is all you need

To expand our minds
And see this cruel world
Through a wise person’s eyes

We don’t care
It helps you grow
Lifts you up
And lets you go

Tired of conformity
The oppressive society
Are you ready to change your ways
Till America sees better days?

Let’s go barefoot and grow our hair
Who says that couples come in pairs?
We’ll dance like children of the flowers
And let this music be our bowers

Hippies hippies
In the 1960s
It just didn’t last

The very Man they protested away
Is the same Man they’re working for today

Better to burn out
Then to fade away

So why’d you choose
To fade away?…

Introducing my Icons Animated phase!!!

I'm a bit angry and such. One of my group members, who will not be named here, wants to put another movie as our clip for the project. I want to do a certain other one. Both are completely appropriate. So why...? Oh, so angry.

Can't type anymore.

Oh, oh. I've got the *dreaded* DECADES PROJECT to do, the so-called "biggest report of my high school career." Meh, that doesn't scare me...lol.

The only problem is that I'm doing my project with like the hugest slacker in the class. *not going to name names*

I'm doing it on the sixties, though that wasn't my initial choice. My partner wanted to do it. It's all right, I suppose, just so much work. So much, you start to wonder if it's all necessary and meaningful and you go in a trance and get all thoughtful about it.

And then you realize you've lost your floppy disk which contains the most important information, and you start to run around and go crazy looking for it.

That's usually my method of doing projects. *shifty*

Hi guys. *waves*

I'm in a good mood, besides the almost unbearable loss in volleyball. I love the sport. If there was such a major...*sigh*
Anyway, there's nothing like serving.
Or setting.
Or spiking. *adds "spiking" to Interests list*

Another dreary day. Ironically, today we're learning to dance to the song "Rain" in the musical. The choreographer's arriving around 2:30, I guess. She's lovely.

I'm nearly at the end of my rope, by the way. It's slightly stressing to get home exhausted at 6:30 after dancing for hours, then having to clean the house and feed and bathe the kids, then having a few minutes to finish homework and wrap it up before I fall among my covers, utterly spent. I have to do this every day for the next three months.

Oh, well. It's what I signed up for. Bring on the challenge! *cheerful*

Time to go to rehearsal.
Asaka grow me a garden, please Agwe don't flood my garden, Erzulie who will my love be, Papa Ge don't come around me...
